Price the door, the frame, and everything behind the trim.
Replacing a door is never only the door. It is the frame it hangs in, the sill it sits on, the trim it breaks, and the weather it has been holding back for thirty New Hampshire winters. Most quotes hide that. This one shows you every line.
Choose interior or exterior, slab or pre-hung, who supplies the door, the glass, the sidelights, the hardware, and the paint — and watch the installed price move as you go. Measure the opening with your phone, add a couple of photos, and send the whole plan to our shop in Windham.
Priced to the opening
Width, glass, sidelights, storm door, hardware, trim, and paint each carry their own line — no lump sum you cannot read.
Honest about rot
Nobody knows what is under their threshold. Say so, and we quote a firm starting number and confirm it with the trim off.
Supplied and installed
We order the door, set and flash the frame, hang it plumb, seal the perimeter, and haul the old one away.
Interactive door planner
Every choice moves the price in front of you, and the elevation redraws as you go. We install doors across Windham, Salem, Pelham, Londonderry, Derry, Manchester, and the towns between — and we confirm the opening in person before anything is ordered.
Plainly: a slab is the door by itself. We hang it in the frame you already have, which is cheapest and fastest — but only works if that frame is square, solid, and sealing. A pre-hung comes with its own frame, hinges, and threshold. We take the old frame out down to the framing and set a new one, which is what fixes a door that sticks, drafts, or has a soft sill.
Who supplies the door?
Grade
Measure the door itself, edge to edge — not the opening. Most entries are 36 in; most bedrooms are 30 or 32. Anything 40 in and over is a special order.
Glass
Sidelights
Storm door
Sill and jamb condition
Nobody knows what is under their threshold, and you are not supposed to. Leaving this on “I'm not sure” is the right call — it just means this number is a firm starting point rather than a final one.
Lockset
Trim
Paint
Wired video doorbell
Much cheaper now than later: the low-voltage run goes in behind trim that is already off on the day.
Doors after the first share the truck roll and the setup, so each one costs less than doing them one visit at a time.
Where is the house?
Scan the space with a free scanning app, export it, and drop the file here — we read the room size straight out of it.
On Android: Polycam or Scaniverse — scan, then Export as OBJ or GLB.
The most useful shots: the whole door from a few feet back, the threshold from the outside, and the hinge side of the frame.
